At Academics Ltd, we are seeking an experienced Youth Justice Officer to join our team. This role is ideal for Criminology and Psychology graduates looking to work with children aged 7-19 who have experienced significant trauma.

The estimated salary for this position is £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.

This is a holistic and restorative approach-focused role that emphasizes empathy at every opportunity. The school provides non-punitive measures and utilizes manual handling training only when absolutely necessary.

We are looking for someone who can support students in enhancing their educational experience and keeping them safe. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Receiving extensive training in SEN and safeguarding, including MAPA Training.
  2. Working with secondary-aged students with EHCPs, including those with Autism, OCD, and varying degrees of social anxiety.
  3. Engaging in physical work while promoting academic progress tailored to each child's context.
  4. Adapting to and managing instances of anti-social behavior as part of supporting vulnerable children.
  5. Utilizing various therapeutic approaches to engage students positively.
