Job Title: Youth Justice Service Leader

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to drive our Southwark 2030 ambition for children to have a good start in life.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in youth justice, a strong track record of leading high-performing teams, and a deep understanding of recent research and best practice in youth justice and social care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a high-performing service to achieve outstanding results in the new inspection regime.
  • Manage the work of several systemic practice groups of multi-disciplinary staff.
  • Ensure standards and performance targets are understood and met or exceeded.
  • Be a visible and active leader within our co-located children's services.

Requirements:

  • Registration with Social Work England or equivalent professional qualification in work with children and families.
  • In-depth knowledge of the legal and statutory framework in youth justice services.
  • Experience of managing significant change to professional services, policy development, and implementation.
  • Ability to implement anti-discriminatory practice and promote anti-racist practice.

Working Hours and Conditions:

36 hours per week. Enhanced DBS check required.

Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum.
