Job Overview

Social Personnel seeks a highly skilled Youth Justice Officer to join our team. As a passionate advocate for vulnerable children, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring they receive the right intervention at the right time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage caseloads with confidence, utilizing strong engagement skills and creative interventions to achieve best outcomes.
  • Provide reliable knowledge and advice, advocating for equality and diversity while respecting individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Develop and implement effective assessments and judgement skills to drive positive change.
RequirementsQualifications and Experience
  1. A relevant professional qualification recognized by one of the Youth Justice statutory partner agencies (Social Work, Probation, Education, Health, Police), e.g., Social Work Degree, Professional Qualification in Probation (PQiP), BA (Hons) Youth Work, Diploma in Counselling/Careers Guidance, PGCE, Registered Nurse qualification, Police Sergeant Level.
  2. Theoretical knowledge, practice, and skills in youth justice and child/adolescent behavior, including attachment and developmental trauma, child development, restorative practice, good lives model, desistance theory, RNR.
  3. Demonstrable experience of writing reports and presenting to a high standard in a Court/formal setting, defending cases and challenging when appropriate.
  4. Extensive experience of multi-agency working to address adolescents' and their families' needs and risks.
  5. Training and development skills to successfully transfer bespoke knowledge and up-skill new colleagues.
