Healthy Careers is seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to join their team at a reputable children's home in Buxton. The home specialises in emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and provides a safe, structured, and caring environment for children aged 8-18.

As a Deputy Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of the home, promoting best practices, and supporting the Home Manager in all aspects of the operation. You will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the development and implementation of individualised care plans for each child.
  • Leading, mentoring, and supervising a team of care staff, ensuring high standards of care and support are maintained.
  • Liaising with external agencies, families, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive care planning and delivery.
  • Managing budgets and resources effectively to ensure the home operates efficiently.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role within a residential childcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and best practices in supporting children with these needs.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with children, staff, families, and external agencies.
  • Relevant qualifications in childcare or social work (Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent preferred).
