Senior Scientist in Adenovirus Gene Transfer

We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Scientist to join our team at the University of Oxford, specifically in the Douglas group at the Jenner Institute, Nuffield Department of Medicine.
This role will provide an opportunity to pursue an agreed strategy within the broad field of improving adenoviral vectors for gene transfer, particularly for vaccination.
Key Responsibilities- Manage academic research and administrative activities related to adenovirus vector research, including small-scale project management and coordination of multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.
- Develop ideas for generating research income and contribute to new research projects.
- Assist in preparing scientific reports and journal articles, including taking leadership in specialized publications on areas of expertise.
- Present papers and posters at meetings and conferences.
- Represent the group through liaison with funders, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders, including participation in external meetings.
- Hold a PhD/DPhil (or be close to completion) in biology or medical science.
- Experience of and excellent molecular biology skills in the engineering of viral genomes, particularly those of a size comparable to adenoviruses.
- Ability to independently plan and manage scientific projects and have excellent communication skills, including the ability to write for publication, prepare protocols, present research proposals and results, and represent the research group at meetings.
