About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Midwife to join our team as a Professional Development Midwife. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to develop their leadership skills and contribute to the delivery of high-quality maternity services.

Key Responsibilities

As a Professional Development Midwife, you will work under the supervision of the Practice Development Midwife to support the maternity service by participating in education programmes and midwifery development within your Division. You will also liaise with other members of the education and midwifery management team as appropriate.

Person Specification

Qualifications and Training

Essential
  • NMC Registered Midwife
  • Degree in Midwifery or equivalent
  • Sign-off mentor or equivalent
Desirable
  • A clinical expert either through formal qualification (diploma/degree) and/or clinical experience pertinent to the area
Experience

Essential
  • Significant all round midwifery experience
  • Evidence of clinical and management skills within a relevant clinical field
  • Evidence of effective multi-disciplinary working.
  • Experience in teaching, mentoring and assessment
Desirable
  • Experience of audit
  • Experience of inter-professional teaching and learning in the clinical environment including undergraduate medical education
  • Previous involvement in quality initiatives
