Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic midwife to join our diabetes team at The Diabetes Times. As a Diabetes Specialist Midwife, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of diabetes services and ensuring that women with diabetes receive high-quality care.

The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for midwifery care, including antenatal care, fetal monitoring, intrapartum care, and postnatal care. You will have the ability to work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver training, support students, new midwives, doctors, and engage in audit and quality improvement.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing effective leadership to the diabetes/pregnancy team
  • Acting as the lead midwife on diabetes in maternity services
  • Working collaboratively with other diabetes team members to develop and implement specialist programs of evidence-based care for women with diabetes
  • Providing expert clinical and professional specialist advice on the care of women who require pre-conceptual care, those with diabetes, or those who develop diabetes during pregnancy
  • Auditing, monitoring, and evaluating the services provided
