About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated midwife to join our diabetes team at Barts Health NHS Trust. As a Diabetes Specialist Midwife, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality care to women with diabetes during pregnancy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical and professional advice on the care of women with diabetes during pregnancy
  • Lead the development, coordination, and implementation of the Specialist Diabetic Service within the Maternity Directorate
  • Develop and deliver training programs for midwives and other healthcare professionals on diabetes care in pregnancy
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to women with diabetes during pregnancy
  • Contribute to the education and professional development of staff in the acute and primary care setting

Requirements
  • Registered Midwife with current NMC registration
  • Experience across the whole spectrum of pregnancy pathway, including normal and complex needs
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of diabetes management in pregnancy
  • Ability to counsel women and give advice within specialist area of practice
  • Proven experience of effective working in a multidisciplinary setting
