Job Description:

The role of a Qualified Social Worker is to provide support and guidance to children and families in need. This position requires a high level of emotional resilience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.

About the Job:

This is an exciting opportunity to work within Specialist Children's Services in Canterbury. As a Social Worker, you will manage a varied caseload of children and families, delivering assessments, planning, and interventions to promote their welfare. Your work will make a tangible difference to the lives of vulnerable children, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of children's needs and develop effective welfare plans.
  • Collaborate with statutory agencies, voluntary organisations, carers, and families to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Attend court as required, preparing high-quality reports that meet strict standards.
  • Maintain accurate, timely records in line with organisational systems and protocols.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest legislation, local policies, and procedures related to child welfare.
  • Contribute to team development and provide support to less experienced colleagues when needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent (DipSW, CQSW).
  • Registration with the Social Workers' Register.
  • Completed ASYE programme (if more than two years post-qualification).
  • Relevant experience managing Children & Families caseloads, including systemic models such as Signs of Safety.

Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additionally, you will receive comprehensive training, ongoing professional development opportunities, and a supportive work environment.

Location:

This role is based in Canterbury, South-East England, requiring flexibility to travel across a wide geographical area.
