About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team at LTF Recruitment Ltd. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with subject teachers and the SENCO to provide support to students with special educational needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with individuals or small groups of students in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff.
  • Frequently work with students who require additional support due to SEN or English language barriers.
  • Implement planned learning activities/teaching programmes as agreed with the teacher, adjusting activities to meet individual student needs.
  • Participate in planning and evaluation of learning activities with the teacher, relating to the needs of students you are supporting.
  • Support independent learning and inclusion of all students in each group you are supporting.
  • Provide feedback to students in relation to attainment and progress under the direction of the teacher.
  • Assist with the development of individual learning plans for students identified with SEN and disabilities.

Requirements:

  • Holds a relevant Supporting Teaching & Learning Qualification or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
  • Comes with at least 6 months of educational experience (essential).
  • Has a strong knowledge and practical understanding of SEN.
  • Is passionate about supporting students with SEN and keen to ensure that they make continued progress.
  • Holds a valid and up-to-date DBS Certificate.
