About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Integrated Community Stroke Rehabilitation Service (ICSRS) team at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust.

The ICSRS is a pioneering service that aims to provide timely and effective rehabilitation to patients following a stroke. As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in developing and delivering our rehabilitation programs, working closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans for patients following a stroke
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify patient needs and goals
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care transitions and effective communication
  • Provide education and support to patients and families to promote independence and self-management
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Registered Occupational Therapist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Experience working in a community or acute setting, with a focus on stroke rehabilitation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the service
