Job Summary

We are currently recruiting for a compassionate and experienced Mental Health Ward Manager to join an independent mental health rehabilitation hospital in Preston.

This is a varied and rewarding role working with an established mental health and learning disability provider. As a Ward Manager, you will be responsible for leading, supporting, and managing staff, as well as being visible and accessible to service users, their families, primary care, acute and community health, and social care teams.

The hospital accommodates males with complex mental health issues who require long-term support and treatment within a controlled environment.

Person Specification
  • A qualified nurse with a valid NMC PIN
  • Previous experience in mental health nursing is highly preferred
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing other qualified professionals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to provide safe and effective patient care
  • A resilient mindset
  • Experience within an inpatient setting is desirable
