Role Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and innovative Travel Systems Solutions Architect to enhance our technology-driven operations. This role involves hands-on management of our travel systems and ensuring seamless connectivity across platforms.

This position is ideal for a mid-level developer aspiring to transition into a solutions architect role.

You will report directly to the Head of Strategy, Growth and Development, collaborating closely with the IT operations manager and loading system manager, while also engaging with external third-party developers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve issues between our APIs, booking engine, and quote system.
  • Collaborate with booking engine developers and internal teams to troubleshoot user issues.
  • Oversee the end-to-end management of new API connections.
  • Monitor and adjust API feeds to ensure optimal service delivery.
  • Manage flight and property cache requirements.
  • Identify enhancements for our content management system, including developing custom code for improved functionality.
  • Create comprehensive visual maps of our systems, detailing data flows and integration points.
  • Utilize monitoring tools to pinpoint bottlenecks and propose enhancements.
  • Analyze our systems architecture and work with the IT operations manager to formulate a long-term optimization strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders, including senior management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in PHP and Laravel, familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.), microservices architecture, API design, and database management (SQL, NoSQL), as well as experience with Postman and relevant developer tools.

Experience: 3-5 years in a relevant field, with at least 2 years in the travel industry.

Skills:

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical abilities to independently tackle complex technical challenges.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
