Job Title: Travel Systems Architect

Location: Hybrid – 2 days a week in our Moorgate office

Role Overview:

We are in search of a proactive and skilled travel systems architect to enhance our technology-driven operations. This position involves managing the effective functioning of our travel systems and ensuring seamless connectivity.

This role is ideal for a mid-level developer aspiring to transition into a solutions architect position.

You will report directly to the Head of Strategy, Growth, and Development, collaborating closely with the IT operations manager and loading system manager, while also engaging with external developers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve issues between our APIs, booking engine, and quotation system.
  • Collaborate with booking engine developers and internal teams to address user challenges.
  • Oversee the end-to-end management of new API integrations.
  • Monitor and adjust API feeds to ensure optimal service delivery.
  • Manage the caching requirements for flights and properties.
  • Identify enhancements for our content management system, including custom coding to improve functionality for internal users.
  • Create comprehensive visual representations of our systems, including data flows and integration points.
  • Utilize monitoring tools to detect performance bottlenecks and propose improvements.
  • Evaluate our systems architecture and work with the IT operations manager to develop a long-term optimization strategy aligned with our business objectives.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders, including senior management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3-5 years in a relevant field, with at least 2 years in the travel industry.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in PHP, Laravel, cloud services (AWS, Azure), microservices architecture, API design, and database management (SQL, NoSQL), along with familiarity with Postman and other developer tools.

Essential Skills:

  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities to independently tackle complex technical issues.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
