Process Improvement Manager Job Description

This role requires a seasoned Process Improvement Manager who can oversee a small team in a dynamic engineering environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Continuous Improvement and Process Engineering and be able to provide guidance and coaching to team members.

  • Maintain strong product knowledge and understanding of shop floor processes.
  • Undertake trials, installation, and commissioning of new equipment and/or processes as advised by the Technical Manager.
  • Participate in the writing/updating of process procedures to ensure procedures are current and all process instructions are fully documented.
  • Participate in or lead Continuous Improvement activities and collaborate with all departments to maintain and improve quality and efficiency as required.
  • Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve process efficiency in your area of responsibility.
  • Liaise daily with the Technical Manager and advise of any potential issues that could affect performance and/or KPIs.
  • Submit statistical reports, as required, detailing departmental performance.

This role is ideal for someone with LEAN manufacturing, Six Sigma, FMEA, 5S, statistical process control, and 8D methodology knowledge, as well as experience in auditing manufacturing processes and documentation.

Key Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Continuous Improvement, Lean, or Process Engineering role.
  • Experience in managing a team or the drive and ability to do so.
  • Demonstrable investigative ability to identify and conclude specific areas of concern, identify root cause, and offer potential solutions.
  • Experience in auditing manufacturing processes and documentation.
