About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team at Smart Teachers. As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the progress and development of children with special needs in a variety of educational settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to children with special needs, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Assist with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, ensuring that children with special needs are fully included in the learning process.
  • Support children with special needs during activities, outings, and transitions, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure that the needs of children with special needs are met.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children with special needs, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances, prioritizing the needs of children with special needs.
  • Knowledge of special needs education and the ability to implement strategies to support children with a range of needs.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with best practices in special needs education.
