Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant

Remedy Education is seeking a compassionate and experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to make a real difference in the lives of our students.

About the Role:
  • Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs, both one-on-one and in small groups, to enhance their academic and social development.
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapting resources to meet students' diverse needs, promoting inclusivity and accessibility.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and the SENCO to monitor student progress, provide feedback, and inform instruction to ensure optimal learning outcomes.
  • Support students in developing essential social, emotional, and academic skills, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assist with personal care needs if required, prioritizing the dignity and safety of all students.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in an SEN setting, with a strong understanding of various special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs, with a commitment to providing high-quality support.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support are desirable but not essential.
