About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teaching Assistant to join our team at Parker Smith Inclusion. As a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Autism/ASC, complex needs, severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), and medical needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with complex needs, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Assist with the delivery of lessons, activities, and interventions, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students with physical disabilities, including those who use wheelchairs, and provide assistance with daily living tasks.
  • Build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents, promoting a culture of mutual respect and understanding.
Requirements
  • A strong commitment to supporting students with complex needs and a passion for making a positive impact.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Experience working with students with Autism/ASC, complex needs, SLD, PMLD, and medical needs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Relevant qualifications and training in special education or a related field.
