Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Emergency Department team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing high-quality nursing care to patients in need.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have recent post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting and be able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care according to individual needs.

In addition, the ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to work effectively as part of a team, and have a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department, ensuring their physical, emotional and psychological needs are met.
  • To assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care, working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • To develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families and carers, providing education and support as needed.
  • To contribute to the management of the department, participating in quality improvement initiatives and contributing to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • RN (Adult) qualification and recent post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting.
  • Completion of preceptorship programme and ability to demonstrate ongoing professional development.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Working Environment

This role will be based in the Emergency Department at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The department is committed to supporting ongoing professional development, with strong links to academic programmes and a well-established work-based development programme supported by our Practice Development team.
