Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity to work closely with local authorities, NHS providers, and other stakeholders to deliver the Essex Mental Health Strategy. As a Programme Lead, you will be responsible for initiating, aligning, and directly supporting a wide range of programmes to improve mental health outcomes in the region.

About the Role

This is a 2-year fixed-term contract or secondment opportunity. You will work closely with the Chair of the Strategy Implementation Group, which brings together leaders from across the system to drive progress. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Determining which issues need system-wide attention and resolution
  • Supporting the Group's development as the principal mental health partnership forum
  • Connecting its work and priorities at all levels in the system

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need to have:

  • Evidence of continuing professional development and expert knowledge in mental health
  • The ability to operate effectively at a strategic level, influencing key individuals and organisations
  • A sound understanding of how to translate complex programmes into clear, practical delivery plans
  • Political astuteness and a sound appreciation of system governance and its complexities
