The Role
The Operational Resilience and Business Continuity Manager will support the Operational Resilience Practice Lead in developing and implementing Northern Trust's Operational Resilience Framework and associated policies.
This will enhance the Firm's resilience and enable it to plan for and respond to significant business disruptions, mitigating foreseeable adverse impacts.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support and lead on elements of the Operational Resilience Framework and supporting methodology.
- Proactively manage team members within the Resiliency Office Assurance team.
- Oversee the resiliency program covering the Operational Resilience Business Services Lifecycle and Business Continuity Plan Assurance Framework.
- Support the implementation and embeddedness of the Operational Resilience framework across Asset Servicing legal entities.
- Engage with senior leaders and relevant SMEs across Asset Servicing to map out important business services, set impact tolerances, and support reporting to business unit/legal entity committees as required.
- Analyze Asset Servicing's business continuity requirements and develop robust recovery strategies in relation to service continuity prioritization.
- Monitor and review the impact of new products and organizational changes on Asset Servicing's resiliency strategy.
- Identify and solve complex operational problems, leveraging appropriate resources within or outside the department.
- Stay current on regulatory requirements, internal policies, and controls related to operational resilience, business continuity, and other resiliency-related programs.
Requirements:
- Several years of experience in operational resiliency.
- People management experience, setting team priorities, and allocating resources to align with business objectives.
- Working knowledge of relevant standards and regulations, such as ISO22301 and FCA/PRA/BoE, and other country regulators' publications in relation to operational resilience.
- Management skills, proven stakeholder engagement experience, inclusive management style, and experience managing Business Continuity/Incident Management/operational processes/risk management initiatives.
- Analytical skills, able to analyze and interpret key facts across data sources, providing stakeholders with clear and concise recommendations and reports.
- Ability to decide, under pressure, the best course of action required to solve a range of problems from complex queries to technical issues.
- Communication and interpersonal skills, communicating clearly and concisely, tailoring content and style, and making a positive impression on others.
- Coaching, training, and mentoring experience across diverse teams, capable of effectively managing conflict and change, resolving problems expeditiously.
