About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Manager to join our team at Jonathan Lee Recruitment. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for driving critical purchasing activities and managing key resources and budgets to support business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Supplier Partnerships: Source and approve new suppliers that meet the organisation's high standards for quality and reliability.
  • Strategic Communication: Collaborate with engineering leads to ensure the right suppliers are involved early in the project cycle, setting the stage for success from day one.
  • Drive Cost Efficiency: Work alongside engineering and cost estimation teams to set and achieve cost targets.
  • Budget Ownership: Take charge of the annual purchasing budget for your area, ensuring every dollar is well spent to support our growth.
  • Performance Management: Set clear objectives for supplier performance reviews focusing on quality, delivery, cost, and risk (QDCR).
  • Capacity Planning: Ensure the supply chain has the capacity to meet the growth plan.
  • Resolve Escalations: Manage any supply chain escalations with a focus on root cause analysis and continuity of supply.
  • Team Development: Lead and develop your team, conducting appraisals, setting clear performance goals, and providing growth opportunities.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Utilise the Supplier Dashboard to make informed decisions on supplier selection and improvement.
  • Policy Compliance: Ensure all Purchasing & Supply Chain Policies and Procedures are strictly followed.

Requirements for the Position:

  • Experience in purchasing within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a strategic mindset.
  • CIPS qualified or part-qualified and willing to continue studies.
  • Understanding of engineering or design principles.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Superior organisational abilities to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
