Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to fill the role of Deputy Surgical Ward Manager at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional care and support to service users with mental and physical health needs.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with the Matron to set, maintain, and audit clinical standards in adherence to local and national priorities. You will be responsible for overseeing the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care within agreed parameters. Additionally, you will identify and contribute to the training needs of junior registered and unregistered staff, ensuring that issues of equality, diversity, and rights are handled in accordance with good practice and legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide quality evidence-based nursing advice, support, and care for service users
  • Work collaboratively with the Matron to maintain and improve clinical standards
  • Develop and implement effective care plans, including Continuing Care Assessments
  • Identify and address training needs of junior staff members
  • Mentor and supervise junior registered and unregistered staff
Essential Criteria
  • Registered Nurse Mental Health (RNMH) or other relevant specialism
  • NMC registration
  • Mentor qualification/ENB 998 or equivalent
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £45,753 - £55,760 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including access to training and development opportunities, a comprehensive pension scheme, and a generous annual leave allowance.
