Head of Business Development and Analytics

The ideal candidate for this role will be responsible for leading the implementation of business analytics systems across the UK, providing key performance reporting, trend analysis, and predictive dashboards to inform strategic decisions. They will oversee partnerships with flexible resource providers and commercial data vendors, ensuring these align with business needs. Additionally, they will manage budget and resourcing for the department, while driving learning and development within the commercial team.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement performance reporting and dashboards to provide clear insights into trends, predictions, and actual performance.
- Coordinate reporting with global colleagues to ensure accurate representation of the UK business.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) with the commercial leadership team.
- Lead operational excellence initiatives to optimize business processes and achieve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Oversee performance and relationships with external pilot providers of flexible commercial resources.
- Manage relationships with external data and solutions providers to ensure data and solutions meet the needs of the commercial team.
- Develop and coordinate the commercial induction program structure and content.
- Maximize the performance of the orchestrator model through training and development interventions.
- Evaluate the success of training interventions and provide regular reports to the Head of Customer Engagement.
- Lead, manage, and coach the Business Excellence team to create a continuous improvement culture.
- 10 years of significant experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including commercial leadership and business analytics experience.
- Experience of training roles in the UK healthcare sector, including field and office-based settings.
- Significant experience of NHS funding and commissioning processes.
- Basic understanding of medical aspects of therapeutic areas, with a willingness to develop in-depth knowledge.
- Expert knowledge and experience of market analytical systems.
- Demonstrable experience in performance coaching and in-field coaching.
- Strategic and analytical thinking.
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
- Proven track record of collaboration with cross-functional teams to contribute to outstanding commercial achievement.
- Professional-level English language skills, both oral and written.
- Highly proficient user of MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Industry experience and understanding of local market access.
- Experience within the NHS.
- Experience in Renal and Cardio therapeutic areas.
- Experience of working with commercial teams.
- Experience of leading functional and cross-functional projects.
- Experience working with Pharmaceutical Marketing teams.
- Experience of the NHS tender process.
- Appropriate training qualifications, such as NLP.
- MBTI practitioner.
- Understanding of legal and ethical issues affecting the promotion of new and existing products within the NHS.
