The role of the community nurse involves working as part of a team to provide high-quality care to patients in various locations. As an experienced RGN, you will be expected to deliver core service requirements, such as evaluating patient care plans and assessing ongoing needs within your level of competency.

Key responsibilities include observing, recording, and reporting changes to other team members, being aware of current evidence-based approaches to patient care, and working in partnership with patients to achieve optimum levels of self-care.

You will also need to demonstrate teaching and supervising nursing care that families can safely undertake, advising on prevention of illness and accidents within your level of competency. Additionally, you will assess the need for service aids and equipment, ensuring they are used appropriately and safely.
