About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Specialist Chemotherapy Nurse to join our team at Sciensus Pharma Services Limited. As a key member of our clinical services team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and support to individuals receiving oncology therapies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake clinical assessments of patients' needs and develop personalized care plans.
  • Administer a range of haematological and solid tumour chemotherapy treatments, ensuring adherence to patient care plans and maintaining professional standards.
  • Provide on-going support to patients through a combination of support programmes, including telephone, clinic-based, and home visits.
  • Assess patients' home environments to ensure they are suitable for home IV oncology treatment, ensuring safety and security.
  • Complete line care for all IV oncology patients, ensuring lines are clean and clear.
  • Change dressings and provide advice on caring for lines to patients and caregivers.
  • Administer all IV oncology medications for patients undergoing IV cancer treatment.
  • Check blood results and make decisions on whether critical levels are within safe parameters to continue with treatment, liaising with referring consultants as needed.

Requirements

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a valid NMC registration.
  • Qualified in administering cytotoxic drugs and cannulation.
  • Experience in administering oncology medication, either in a hospital or community environment.
  • Experience in undertaking clinical assessments and administering sub-cutaneous injections.
  • Experience in the care of IV devices and administration of IV therapies.
