About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Physical Health Team as a Nurse Specialist - Physical Health. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about improving the physical health of individuals with severe mental illness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality clinical support to junior colleagues and act as a clinical expert in the assessment and management of physical health needs.
  • Contribute to the systematic review of SMI registers to identify eligible patients for comprehensive physical health checks.
  • Support the smooth running of physical health clinics, including booking appointments, conducting physical health/wellbeing assessments, and creating care plans.
  • Ensure compliance with NMC Code and Standards of Practice, as well as relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide practice supervision and support for nursing students and student nursing associates on placement in the service.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse - Mental Health/Learning Disability/General with current registration with NMC
  • ENB 998 / Preceptorship and or Practice Supervisor and Assessor Training
  • At least 3 years' experience post-registration at Band 5 and community nursing experience
