About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to lead on the Ardleigh ward based at the Lakes Mental Health Unit in Colchester.

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for the clinical care of patients admitted to the in-patient unit on the ward. You will work closely with the team and the ward manager to ensure the provision of an effective service.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and actively liaise with general practitioners, psychiatrists, and other hospital specialists, statutory and non-statutory agencies, whenever relevant to the care and treatment of patients.
  • Be committed to a multidisciplinary approach to care.
  • Use evidence-based interventions at all times.
  • Offer a consistent response to referrers/service users regardless of origin of the referral in a timely fashion.
  • Attend Mental Health Act assessments as requested for relevant patients.
  • Act as the Responsible Clinician for inpatients including attending Tribunals, as necessary.

What We Offer

In return, we offer a competitive salary range of £101,000 - £115,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus generous relocation package up to £8,000 and recruitment and retention premia up to £15,000 (T&Cs apply).
