Advanced Specialist Children's Community Dietitian

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Dietitian to join our established Children's Nutrition and Dietetic Community Team in Oldham.

The successful candidate will provide specialist paediatric Dietetic care across Oldham in a variety of settings, including clinics, patients' homes, and special schools. They will manage a complex caseload, including home-enterally fed children and neonates, and take a lead on driving quality and audit initiatives within the department.

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in community paediatric dietetics and be able to represent the Dietetic service at relevant internal and external meetings. They will be actively involved in the training of students and maintain clinical responsibility for their own caseload.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide specialist dietary advice to complex children and their families.
  2. Manage a caseload that includes complex enterally fed babies and children, neonates, complex disability, allergy, and oral nutrition support.
  3. Support patients and families during the transition from paediatric services to adult services.
  4. Lead on driving quality and audit initiatives within the department.
  5. Contribute to MDT meetings and service development projects.
  6. Work with the Dietetic team to educate health professionals and students on dietary information and training.
  7. Assist in the training of student Dietitians across the NCA.
  8. Educate children and their parents/carers on nutrition and dietetic treatment.
