Job Title: Private Sector Housing Team Leader

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated individual to lead our Private Sector Housing Team and deliver quality services to our residents and businesses.

About the Role

The successful candidate will possess an extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, codes of practice, and guidance, ensuring the council meets all relevant obligations within disabled facilities grants, housing conditions, home improvement loans, HMO licensing, empty properties, and caravan site licensing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Private Sector Housing Team and deliver quality services to residents and businesses
  • Ensure the council meets all relevant obligations within disabled facilities grants, housing conditions, home improvement loans, HMO licensing, empty properties, and caravan site licensing
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve team performance and service delivery
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with officers, members, and other key stakeholders and partners
  • Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively
Requirements
  • Qualification in Environmental Health
  • Detailed knowledge and experience in disabled facilities grants and regulatory private sector housing work areas
  • Experience in a supervisory role
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and mediation skills
  • Ability to demonstrate a track record of dealing with complex cases, contributing to business process improvement, and leading by example
