About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Consultant Obstetrician to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust. The successful candidate will have a special interest in Fetal Medicine and will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical teams, and contributing to the development of our obstetric services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical care to patients with complex obstetric needs, including those requiring fetal medicine scans and interventions.
  • Lead and manage clinical teams, including midwives, doctors, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient service delivery.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies, guidelines, and protocols to improve patient outcomes and service efficiency.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of service plans and strategies.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients, including those with complex medical and social needs.
Requirements
  • CCST/CCT (or equivalent) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, or within six months of attaining CCST/CCT.
  • Demonstrable skills in department management and leadership.
  • ATSM or equivalent in Fetal Medicine.
  • ATSM in Obstetrics and Labour Ward Management.
  • Wide experience in Obstetrics and Labour Ward Management.
Person Specification
  • Essential criteria:
    • CCST/CCT (or equivalent), or within 6 months of a date, or entry on the Specialist Register of the GMC for Obstetrics & Gynecology
    • Demonstrable skills in department management
    • ATSM or Equivalent in Fetal Medicine
    • ATSM in Obstetrics and Labour Ward Management
    • Wide experience in Obstetrics
  • Desirable criteria:
    • Experience in Management of Recurrent Miscarriages.
    • Completed recognised management course
