About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Obstetrician to join our team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and leading our Fetal Medicine service, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Fetal Medicine service, including diagnostic and screening procedures
  • Work closely with our obstetric and gynaecology teams to provide high-quality care to patients with complex fetal medicine needs
  • Conduct regular labour ward days and obstetric on-calls, as well as weekly antenatal clinics and fetal medicine sessions
  • Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives to drive service improvement
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and guidelines
Requirements
  • Full UK GMC registration and a Licence to Practise
  • Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within six months of the date of the Interview
  • MRCOG or equivalent specialist qualification
  • Subspecialty training in Maternal-Fetal Medicine
  • Advanced obstetric scanning skills, including fetal medicine diagnostic and screening procedures
  • Skills and commitment to maternal medicine and high-risk obstetrics
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • ATSM in Advanced Labour Ward Practice or Advanced Antenatal Care
  • Clinical leadership experience as an operational lead for a clinical service or area
  • Additional clinical skills relevant to Obstetrics and Gynaecology, but outside of the specialty
