About National Nuclear Laboratory: NNL are at the forefront of nuclear research & development in the UK and beyond with a wide range of projects that require creative safety support. Our projects cover a wide range including Advanced Modular Reactors, Advanced Fuels, support to Springfields fuels Ltd, advanced separation techniques, Space Batteries, robotics and operational support of our facilities.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Safety Consultant to join our team and contribute to the delivery of these projects. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our experts to provide radiological safety assessments and support.

Main Responsibilities:
  • You will provide expert knowledge of radiological safety assessment, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in methodology and approach.
  • You will lead technical delivery of radiological safety assessments, ensuring they are accurate and compliant with regulations.
  • You will support the development of junior colleagues, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
  • You will use your creativity and initiative to develop new capabilities through innovative approaches, including the technical lead on complex R&D projects and submissions.

The estimated salary for this position is £70,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience. The location for this role is flexible and can be based at Preston, Risley or Sellafield.
