Health and Safety Specialist Role Profile

We are seeking a Health and Safety Specialist to join our team in West Cumbria. This is a permanent opportunity with a competitive salary of £70,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advice to ensure dose exposures are maintained as ALARP and implementing radiological protection survey programmes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake regular reviews of radiological protection survey programmes
  • Provide advice to ensure all personnel are adequately trained in regards to radiation protection
  • Set and review annual dose constraints
  • Verify secondary waste calculations prior to issue to suppliers/customers
Requirements:
  • SNVQ level 4 in radiation safety practice or equivalent
  • Understanding and experience of implementation of radiation protection systems
  • Understanding of plant operations and associated hazards
  • Understanding of plant activities and associated hazards
