Job Title: Year 6 SEMH Teacher

A dedicated and experienced teacher is required to join our team at Future Education as a Year 6 SEMH Teacher. The ideal candidate will have Qualified Teacher Status and strong skills in managing Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and challenging behaviour.

About the Role

This role involves creating and delivering engaging lessons tailored to the needs of Year 6 students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Class sizes are small, typically between 5-6 children per class with Behaviour Support Staff.

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that cater to the individual needs of students with SEMH and ASD.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students, ensuring they are regularly reviewed and updated.
Requirements

The successful candidate must have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (either Primary or Secondary trained teacher)
  • Taught in either a SEMH School / PRU / Alternative Provision / Primary School OR a Secondary School
  • Experience in managing classroom behaviour effectively, using appropriate strategies to support students with challenging behaviours
