Job Overview

This is a unique opportunity to work as a Developer Contributions Principal Planner with the London Borough Council, contributing to transformational development projects in East London.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the developer contributions (S106 and CIL) work programme, ensuring timely completion and alignment with council objectives.
  • Administer and review the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL), guaranteeing compliance and efficient use of funds.
  • Negotiate and administer s106 and CIL receipts, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders and developers.
  • Develop policies, procedures, and guidance notes for planning obligations, providing expert advice to colleagues and external partners.
  • Represent the organisation on corporate working parties and decision-making structures, promoting the council's interests and values.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A comprehensive knowledge of Town and Country Planning Act and legislation, enabling you to navigate complex regulatory frameworks.
  • A degree in Town Planning or a related field, demonstrating your academic expertise and passion for the subject.
  • Experience in spatial planning or a related discipline, showcasing your practical skills and ability to apply theoretical concepts.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, allowing you to effectively collaborate with colleagues, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • An ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, prioritising tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
