About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mortgage Loan Specialist I to join our team at State Employees' Credit Union. As a key member of our lending team, you will be responsible for originating and processing mortgage loans, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and credit union policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Originate and process mortgage loans, including gathering and verifying loan documentation
  • Conduct credit analysis and make lending decisions consistent with credit union policies
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with branch personnel, VPs, SVPs, attorneys, members, appraisers, and realtors
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and credit union policies
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on industry developments and best practices
Requirements
  • 4-year degree, CCUE Certification, or Associate in Arts degree or Associate in Science degree via the North Carolina College Transfer Program (NC-CTP) preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years' lending experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in an office setting with physical proximity to other employees and members
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a dynamic office environment with a team of experienced professionals. The role requires a substantial amount of sitting and use of computer and telephone equipment.
