Mortgage Loan Administration Specialist

At the Bank of China, we are seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Loan Administration Specialist to join our Operations Services department. As an Assistant Vice President, you will be responsible for administering and overseeing the delivery of loan processing and security document maintenance functions. Your primary focus will be on providing good operational support and services to our Personal Banking Department, Risk Management Department, Banking Department, and sub-branches.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support in the area of Compliance and Risk control, ensuring all reviews and tasks are completed in accordance with the Bank's policy and procedure.
  • Liaise with Financial Crime department with regards to compliance issues in the branch and support with all their enquiries.
  • Liaise with CDD teams from Corporate Banking and Personal Banking departments on behalf of the branch when necessary.
  • Assisting to ensure the standard of CDD in the branch meet the Bank's P&Ps requirements.
  • Complete periodic reviews of the existing Personal and Corporate clients in accordance with the Bank's policies and procedures within the timeframe required; conduct sanction screening, transaction monitoring, adverse media screening, and PEP checks.
  • Monitor and follow up with customers for overdue mortgage payments, ground rent, and management fees whilst recording the correct performing status of loans.
  • Monitor the daily retail mortgage payment report to process interest adjustment if required.
  • Process drawdown, collateral, and repayment information in relevant systems for retail mortgage business.
  • Reconcile overdue interest and make adjustment for retail mortgage.
  • Review legal and loan documents as well as approvals before drawdown for retail mortgage.
  • Send repayment notice to customers in a timely manner.
  • Analyse facility limit and resolve issues with branches prior to drawdown.
  • Perform system upgrade testing as required.
  • Manage and train the Mortgage Admin team.

Requirements:

  • Degree educated in Business, Finance, Accounting, or other equivalent.
  • Solid experience within the Mortgage Administration industry and proven track record in similar business stream.
  • Results-focused.
  • Excellent staff management skills and ability to train and develop staff.
  • Good knowledge of regulatory requirements for retail mortgage.
  • Positive and professional work ethic with drive and ambition.
  • Customer-focused.
  • Excellent communication skills.
