About the Role

The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Medical Secretary to join our team. As a Medical Secretary, you will play a critical role in supporting our clinical staff by providing administrative assistance and ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide medical audio transcription services, including typing and editing clinical correspondence
  • Carry out administrative tasks, such as booking appointments and updating patient records
  • Deal with internal and external telephone enquiries, providing excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Undertake routine office duties, including printing, scanning, and filing
  • Organize workload to meet key performance indicators (KPIs)

Requirements

  • Qualified to RSA III/NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification/demonstrable skills in word processing (60+ wpm at 98% accuracy)
  • Experience of using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook
  • Experience of working in a hospital environment, preferably in a secretarial role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
