Job Summary:

SuperCare Residential is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Mental Health Support Worker to join our team. As a Senior Mental Health Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to vulnerable children and young people.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support and care to young people, including key working and daily living activities.
  • Work in partnership with young people, their families, social workers, and other organizations to ensure comprehensive support and care.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to promote independence and well-being.
  • Take responsibility for the upkeep of the residential setting, ensuring a safe and healthy environment.
  • Manage administrative tasks and record-keeping associated with key working and daily operations.
  • Support young people in developing life skills, including personal care, cooking, and household management.
  • Respond to safeguarding concerns and report incidents effectively.
  • Participate in regular supervision and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

Household Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized living environment.
  • Assist with household chores, including laundry, cleaning, and meal preparation.
  • Manage household finances and report any issues to management.
  • Report maintenance and repair needs to ensure a safe and functional living environment.

Personal Qualities:

  • Act as a positive role model and mentor for young people.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in mental health support and youth care.
  • Engage in regular professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Report any concerns or incidents to management.

Additional Requirements:

  • Work flexible shifts, including weekends and bank holidays, as required.
  • Participate in on-call duties as needed.
  • Attend training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements for Success:

  • Experience working with children and young people in a residential setting.
  • Level 3 CYPW or above (essential).
  • Enhanced DBS check and update service (essential).
  • Ability to drive.
  • Smart and agile to handle daily needs and activities of young people.
