This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Risk Manager to join our Reporting, Data Governance and Controls team within Credit Risk Measurement at Nationwide Building Society. The team is responsible for credit risk regulatory and critical reporting, as well as leading governance for data in the credit risk and modelling data domain, and all credit risk and financial controls on behalf of the Chief Credit Officer.
Key Responsibilities- Create new reporting approaches in response to internal stakeholder demand, ensuring that data provided to senior committees is on specification and error-free.
- Develop our risk measurement, reporting and analytics capabilities, driving efficiencies in data aggregation and compiling regulatory and critical reporting.
- Deliver insight into anomalies and issues highlighted by the detailed trends and variance analysis associated with report error checking.
- Ensure that all reporting is completed on time, with specification, and that all internal and external controls are executed efficiently.
- Liaise with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders at senior level.
- Manage a small number of direct line reports, providing mentoring and coaching.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Risk Manager who possesses:
- Proficiency in SAS and Microsoft Office Applications.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Able to work both as a team and using your own initiative with an analytical mindset to review and challenge results, and creativity to develop innovative solutions to complex demands.
- Experience of credit risk management principles such as IFRS9, IRB and Portfolio Management.
- A clear understanding of the importance of data management and financial controls.
- Experienced in regulatory and/or critical reporting at a major retail finance provider.
