We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Penrith, North lakes bakery.

About the Role

  • This is a full-time role (44 hours per week) with a 3-shift rotation, including Saturdays on a 1-in-3 basis.
  • The shifts will be split between early mornings, days, and late evenings/overnights.
  • The base location for this role is Penrith, North lakes bakery.

Responsibilities

As a Maintenance Engineer at Greggs, you will work closely with the Engineering Manager to develop and implement engineering improvements to our production facilities, equipment, and services.

You will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining and improving the performance of production facilities, equipment, and services in a planned preventive manner.
  • Collaborating with site teams, including the Maintenance Manager, Team Members, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Finding solutions to breakdowns quickly and effectively, monitoring plant performance and equipment reliability.

Requirements

To be successful as a Maintenance Engineer at Greggs, you should have:

  • A multi-skilled manufacturing background, ideally within the food or FMCG sectors.
  • Electrical bias, multi-skilled, and trained to an apprentice level.
  • Experience with PLC automated control systems, processes, fault-finding, and analysis, particularly Siemens TIA Portal and Step 5/7 operating systems, Allen Bradley/Mitsubishi.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 360 packages, SAP systems, and CMMS, with Agility experience being advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to interact with various stakeholders and respond positively under pressure.
  • Able to comply with Health and Safety and Food Safety standards, which are essential to us here at Greggs.

Salary

The salary for this role is approximately £44,041 per annum, based on a 44-hour workweek.
