Surgical Dietitian Specialist

This fixed-term contract will provide maternity cover for the Paediatric Dietetic Gastroenterology service, supported by the current Band 6 dietitian.
You will provide nutritional support for children with a wide range of clinical conditions, including inflammatory bowel disease, motility disorders, and intestinal failure.
As part of this role, you will support the allergy outpatient service, lead the dietetic care for gastro surgical patients on the ward, and support junior colleagues with complex allergy patients.
There is the option to be involved in line management of junior colleagues and contribute to senior leadership within dietetics if interested and experienced.
Main ResponsibilitiesProvide specialist dietetic support as a member of the gastro and allergy MDT to children under the care of Oxford Children's Hospital.
Be a valued member of the dietetic paediatric team, contributing to team meetings, CPD, and other activities, including student training and teaching of colleagues.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvision of dietetic care to children admitted to the Children's hospital under the Gastroenterology team, including complex conditions requiring specialist intervention.
Attendance at weekly MDT meetings.
Dietetic support for the surgical ward, including patients who have had gut resections, oesophageal atresia with gastric pull up, and complex patients requiring specialist feed advice.
Experience of parenteral nutrition and home parenteral nutrition is desirable.
Outpatients: provision of dietetic cover to consultant-led outpatient clinics and those patients requiring long-term dietetic support on specialist diets.
Provision of dietetic care to the Consultant-led allergy clinic, which runs two mornings a week.
Sound knowledge of feeds, formulas, and special diet products, and use of EDM 3000 for feed recipes.
To have a strong foundation in nutritional support, including enteral feeding (including home enteral feeding in line with OUH policies).
Person Specification- Dietetic degree
- Minimum 2 years paediatric experience

Salary: £46,148 to £52,809 a year per annum pro rata.
