Exciting Opportunity for a Principal Civil and Structural Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Principal Civil and Structural Engineer to join our dynamic design team, undertaking traditional, bespoke, and innovative designs of reinforced concrete, steel, and masonry structures for defence, nuclear decommissioning, and nuclear new build projects.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering nuclear design work, inspections, and construction site support on projects for a range of public and private sector clients within the UK and overseas. This will involve concept and feasibility studies for multi-discipline design projects, analysis and design using engineering software, and preparing calculations, CDM activities, and technical reports.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the design of structures associated with state-of-the-art mechanical handling equipment and their process and electrical systems.
  2. Undertake stand-alone civil/structural tasks, including structural inspections and site surveys.
  3. Provide technical leadership and expertise, and take on the role of Technical Lead on specific projects when required.
  4. Manage project delivery and people management of Senior CS&A Engineers and CS&A Engineers.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the design of structures in reinforced concrete and steelwork, and a good understanding of the relevant legal and regulatory standards. Previous experience within the nuclear industry and design for seismic loading would be advantageous but not necessary.
