About Our Team

AECOM's Nuclear Structures team provides multi-disciplinary consultancy to the nuclear industry in both the nuclear new build and decommissioning sectors. Our team is dedicated to delivering innovative solutions to complex challenges, and we're seeking a talented Graduate Civil-Structural Engineer to join our team.

Job Description

We're looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Civil-Structural Engineer to work on live projects, including:

  • Preparing structural element designs in a variety of materials, mainly steel and concrete
  • Undertaking analysis of structures
  • Preparation of design documentation such as basis of design, design method statements, specifications
  • Developing an understanding of highly regulated industries
  • Developing an understanding of Safety Cases and the supporting documentation
  • Developing an understanding of risk and the preparation of designer's risk assessments
  • Liaison with the project team, in particular with technicians that translate working designs into construction drawings

As a Graduate Civil-Structural Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from new build to decommissioning, and develop your skills in structural design, analysis, and documentation. You'll be working with experienced engineers who will guide and mentor you throughout your time at AECOM.
