Job Overview

This SEN Teaching Assistant role is an excellent opportunity to work in an educational setting, supporting students with special educational needs. The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification and experience working with students with SEN.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support and assistance to students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Assist in creating and implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) for students
  • Support students in their academic and social development
  • Adapt teaching materials and techniques to meet the unique needs of each student
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour strategies
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop and deliver effective learning programmes
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students
  • Help students with personal care tasks, as required
  • Monitor and track student progress, and provide feedback to teachers and parents/guardians

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Knowledge of learning support strategies and techniques
  • Familiarity with SEN, Autism, SEMH, and speech and language difficulties
  • Ability to effectively manage classroom behaviour and provide individualised support
  • Proficiency in manual handling techniques
  • Knowledge of PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) and Phonics

Salary and Working Conditions

The salary for this role is £83.00 per day. The SEN Teaching Assistant will primarily work in an educational setting, such as a school or specialised learning centre. The role involves regular interaction with students with special educational needs, teachers, and other professionals.
