Job Title: Practice Nurse

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Practice Nurse to join our team at Manchester Road Surgery. As a Practice Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality nursing services to our patients, working closely with our GPs and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by GP Partners.
  • Conduct cytology and urinalysis tests.
  • Provide travel clinic services.
  • Manage asthma and peak flow readings, spirometry, and hypertension.
  • Administer routine and childhood immunisations.
  • Chaperone and assist patients during examinations.
  • Request pathology tests, such as urine cultures and swabs.
  • Participate in administrative systems and maintain accurate records.
  • Attend practice meetings and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Person Specification:

  • Current NMC registration.
  • Registered General Nurse, recognised qualification to diploma level or above.
  • Cervical cytology training/qualification.
  • Child immunisation training.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an integrated multi-skilled team.
  • Pleasant and articulate communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a changing environment.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and able to prioritise workload.
  • Adaptable, innovative, and forward-thinking.
