Job Overview

This role involves working as an on-call firefighter for Hampshire County Council, responding to emergency situations and engaging with the community. The position requires a minimum of 35 hours per week on call, and pay is £5,332 per annum plus additional incident call out payments at £16.54 per hour.

The Role

As an on-call firefighter, you will be part of a team that saves lives and protects communities. This is a demanding role that requires physical fitness and the ability to respond quickly to emergencies. You must be able to reach the fire station within 4 minutes of being alerted.

During non-emergency periods, you will have everyday lives and jobs, but when your pager sounds, you become a professional firefighter. This role offers the chance to make a real contribution to the community and form close working relationships with your team.

You will be involved in a wide range of situations, from community fire safety and flooding to road accidents and chemical spills. Previous experience is not necessary, as a comprehensive training program is provided. What is important is that you are enthusiastic and can meet certain essential requirements.
