Job Title: Control And Monitoring System Engineer

We are currently seeking a skilled Manufacturing Systems Engineer to join our team at MDE Consultants Ltd. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards across the site and driving process improvements through project leadership.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process controls, PLCs, and manufacturing systems, with excellent problem-solving skills and experience in performing safety-compliant work with machinery, systems, and chemicals.

The salary for this position is approximately £52,500 per year, which includes a bonus scheme.

About the Role:

This role involves leading and participating in individual or team projects to drive process improvements and optimise systems. You will also be responsible for performing safety-compliant work with machinery, systems, and chemicals, rectifying PLC and system faults, and creating and updating PLC programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing safety-compliant work with machinery, systems, and chemicals.
  • Rectifying PLC and system faults, identifying root causes.
  • Creating and updating PLC programs and managing system software backups.
  • Leading and participating in individual or team projects.
  • Analysing performance data to align PM schedules with operational history.
  • Conducting root cause analysis (RCA) and sharing learnings to improve processes.

Requirements:

  • HNC in Engineering or equivalent with relevant industrial experience.
  • Proven PLC programming and fault-finding skills (Ladder Logic, C+, Structured Text).
