About You

As a Youth Residential Specialist, you will be working in a fast-paced environment providing care and support to children and young people with complex needs. If you are passionate about making a difference in children's lives, we want to hear from you

Job Responsibilities
  • Support young people's activities such as outdoor activities, beach days, walks, cycling, movie nights, and meals out.
  • Provide daily care and support to children and young people to ensure they can make good choices.
  • Teach and promote life skills to help the child develop independence and self-sufficiency.
  • Assist in running the home, including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Ensure the physical and emotional safety of the child by maintaining a secure environment.
  • Develop strong, trusting relationships with the child to provide emotional support and stability.
  • Implement therapeutic techniques and interventions as part of a care plan.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of the child's progress and behaviours.
  • Support the child's educational needs, including homework assistance.
  • Engage in regular training sessions to stay updated on best practices.
  • Act as an advocate for the child's needs and rights.
  • Work in shifts, including weekends and sleep-in shifts.
Requirements
  • Passionate about making a difference in children's lives.
  • Experience in a children's home setting and/or hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • A driving license is required.
  • Clear enhanced DBS check required.
